Update on Daniel

Finally getting some good news on Daniel.

First, he tells me he is starting to see better out of his left eye. The blood that was in it is starting to settle where it is not right behind his pupil. He sees the eye doctor on the 22nd, so I hope he will have some good news for us for a change!

Second, he saw his head & neck surgeon today and the doctor used a scope to check his sinus' (both sides) and says everything looks clean and clear. Of course, there is scar tissue inside his right sinus from the aggressive surgery he had but that is to be expected...as long as that nasty fungal infection is definitely gone that is what we want. :) He should be having an MRI within a few weeks and then see the infectious disease doctor. If this MRI still shows he's fungus free then he may not have to take the nasty antibiotic he's had to take for the last year! Yippee.

The only sad news is Daniel was wanting reconstructive surgery to correct his right eye being off-kilter, but the doctors are against it because it may cause more damage or even stir-up any sleeping fungus (? is there such a thing? or am I making that up?) that they can't see.

So that's that for now. Will keep you posted after his next doctor appointment.
